Our black plastic high tensile mesh is made from tough, extruded polypropylene. The plastic strands on the netting are very thin, but extremely strong and very difficult to tear with your hands. The result is a mesh which is light-weight, inconspicuous, and durable.

This product is ideal for fruit cages and anti-bird nets. The small hole size is perfect for keeping out all wild birds. The mesh can also be used as netting on poultry and pheasant enclosures. It is also an excellent choice to prevent your cat from escaping from the garden.

Given that the netting is light-weight and flexible, it may require the support of our galvanized line wire.

  • Material: Black plastic (Polypropylene).

  • Weight per square metre: Approx. 80 grams (18mm x 15mm hole).

  • Hole size: 18mm x 15mm (0.7 inch x 0.6 inch).

  • Roll Heights: The heights of the rolls are manufactured to metric measurements. We have rounded the imperial height conversions up or down to the nearest inch for simplicity. The accurate metric and imperial heights are as follows: 1m (3ft 3.37 inch) high; 2m (6ft 6.74 inch) high.

All measurements +/- 15%. If you require a micrometer reading of the wire thickness then please call us on 01782 820 970.

Hi folks, We'd like to make a roof-like structure please for an enclosed garden. It has timber fencing all the way around at 1.8 metres high. I.e. we can attach the net/mesh 'roof' to the edges of the fence and support it with a timber frame in the middle as necessary to prevent sagging. The fenced plot is 4.3 metres wide and 6.5 metres long. The main idea is to keep cats from leaving a 'Mr. Whippy' on the lettuces and we're hoping that, because the net/mesh won't give them much purchase or will be unpleasant to chew, they'll be put off. I'd prefer to keep birds out also if possible. I think a whole roof structure of firm wire mesh might look a bit 'prison-campy' but there are more than a dozen semi-feral, seriously mean cats fed by a neighbour (i.e. they're not going anywhere) and so I'm not sure that an internally inclined partial wire mesh will work- they'll just jump in and get stuck and then probably try to rip my face off when I open the gate. Do you have any recommendations please? Might PVC-coated wire mesh/netting be the way to go? Many thanks in anticipation

Having discussed this with my colleague, we think that the best solution may be to use a high tensile plastic mesh. This is often used at the top of fencing to keep cats in a garden, and if installed correctly should also keep them out!

The mesh is lightweight i.e. net-like, and so will need to be supported. However, the material is strong, and would be difficult to tear by hand. The advantage of using this product is that although it is strong, the material is quite thin and black in colour - therefore, it is relatively unobtrusive. The material is also used as an anti-bird netting, and so it will keep wild birds out of the garden as well.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

We are processing and dispatching orders as normal, and orders are usually dispatched either the same day or the next Working Day. Due to high pressures on all courier networks, some delays and split deliveries may be possible (please allow up to 2 Working Days for Express Deliveries and up to 4 Working Days for Standard Deliveries, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays). A slightly longer lead time may apply to certain postcodes, but this will be made clear in the Delivery Options at the Checkout.

Having anticipated short supplies of goods at the beginning of the year, we have filled our warehouse with stock. Whilst a certain product may be out of stock on our website, we will have an alternative option available which will be in stock – please feel free to ask our live chat agents for alternatives if you cannot find a suitable product for your application.

We may find that over the next few days or weeks that the speed of service we take pride in providing may be delayed slightly, either due to the requirement for staff members to self-isolate, or due to the pressures on the courier networks. Should this issue arise, we will do our very best to keep you fully informed, and rest assured that we will do everything possible to dispatch and deliver your order. If we could ask that you bear with us that would be very much appreciated, especially in the case of potential delivery issues. Some delivery delays may be unavoidable, as all UK courier networks are at full capacity due to  unprecedented levels of deliveries, combined with a potential shortage of drivers due to self-isolation requirements.
