Our 6mm x 6mm welded stainless steel mesh is the ideal choice for long lasting rodent protection. The 6mm x 6mm hole size is perfect for keeping out mice, and because stainless steel is a harder material than mild steel, the 0.7mm thick wire is thick enough to prevent mice and rats from chewing through the mesh. The 6mm x 6mm hole is also suitable for keeping out moles.
We have sold this mesh to a wide range of customers for rodent protection, including supermarkets, food manufacturers, and pest control companies. The mesh holds its shape well, but it can easily be bent by hand making it easy to work with.
Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion, and therefore is longer lasting than a galvanized finish mesh. Stainless steel is commonly used in the food industry, but has a wide variety of applications where a higher level of rust resistance is required.
All measurements +/- 7%. If you require a micrometer reading of the wire thickness then please call us on 01782 820 970.
Do you do a mesh for keeping mice out?
Thank you for the enquiry. The correct mesh for keeping out mice is our welded 6mm x 6mm wire mesh. We offer this mesh in either a galvanized finish, or a stainless steel finish.
If you are looking for an insect mesh which is also mouse proof, then I would suggest our woven stainless steel 16 Mesh, which is sold by the metre.
How rigid is this mesh?
Could it be used as a support for plant pots on a 3ft wide table frame?
Thank you for the enquiry.
The 6mm x 6mm welded mesh is a light-weight mesh (similar to the type of mesh you would see on a bird nut-feeder). Therefore, I doubt that it would be strong enough to support the plant pots.
If you are looking for a more rigid mesh, then our 13mm x 13mm 16 gauge welded mesh is stronger. I should add that even this more rigid mesh may need some additional support, depending on the weight of the plant pots.
How would I connect 6mm x 6mm stainless mesh together?
Thank you for your enquiry.
There are two methods to connect this mesh. You can use stainless steel 1mm line wire and thread it between two overlapped sections of mesh or you can use stainless steel cable-ties. This fixing method will also work for 13 x 13mm stainless 19g mesh.
Thank you.
Appreciate the service.
Just to say that I have been very impressed with the customer service advice and rapid delivery of my order this week
