Our chain-link fencing is European made to a very high standard. The chain-link is green PVC coated, with a fully galvanized core wire underneath the plastic coating. Therefore, the fencing is not only long-lasting, but it is also the perfect option for an attractive, inconspicuous fence.
Our post system is also European made, and uses a tubular 50mm diameter steel post. The posts are fully galvanized and green powder coated to match the green PVC coated chain-link. Included in the cost of the End Posts, Corner Posts, and Two-way Straining Posts are all the fittings you require (stretcher bars, struts, brackets, winders, nuts and bolts, post caps).
Please note that the Fence Clip Tool and Green Clips are required to fit the post system, and so will need to be added to an order which includes our Intermediate Posts. Our posts are designed to be buried into the ground and concreted in with Postcrete (not supplied with order). The overall post length is 1.55m.
Please click on the following links to view our detailed Installation Guide, together with our shorter Quick Installation Guide. The detailed instructions explain the post types and number of posts that you require for a fence, and how to install the system. Alternatively, we have put together a number of chain-link fencing kits which include all the posts, fittings, and tools you will need for some of the most popular fence dimensions. Hello, Can you please tell me how often is an intermediate post required. The length will be about 24 ft.
We recommend to space the intermediate posts approximately 2.5 to 3 meters apart
We have two English bull terriers, 6 months old. We need to fence off the garden before it is totally trashed!
Do you think chain link fencing will be durable enough, with the posts and a gate.
Thank you for the enquiry.
We have sold chain link fencing for dog enclosures, however whether or not this will be suitable will depend on the dogs (for example, whether they have a history of breaking through fencing, or whether they are likely to make strenuous attempts to escape through the fence).
I know a tricky question for you, but would you recommend the upgrade to higher thickness of chain link if budget allows? Impact of cricket balls hit from about 70 metres away, sometimes on the full, will occur on occasions, and we do have potential issue of local kids climbing over, rather than use gate, especially if stile removed.
We have customers who use both our standard and our heavy weight chain-link for boundaries, and are very happy with them.
Having said that, the increase in the thickness of the core wire from 1.7mm to 2.24mm will provide a noticeably stronger fence. Given that the investment in the posts is the same for either option, the additional amount for the upgraded chain-link is relatively good value. We recently supplied the heavier weight chain-link to a cricket club in Salisbury if that helps with your decision.
With your 2 inch diameter fence posts what hole size is recommended. I have 4 6 and 8inch bits on my Auger. I am guessing 6 but would be better if 4
Thank-you for the enquiry.
We would suggest a 6” hole for the Intermediate Posts, and an 8” hole for the straining posts (i.e. an End Post, Two-way Post or Corner Post).
Hi I already have Chain link fencing in my garden but I'm looking to have some privacy. I have noticed on websites in the US that you can buy plastic tape that threads through the chains. Can you confirm if you sell this or anything else that you can turn the fence into more private? Thanks
Many thanks for your enquiry.
Although we are not able to supply a product that threads through chain link (whilst this is available in the US, as I understand it this product is not widely available in the UK), as an alternative we can offer a screening mesh with a shade factor of either 85% or 95%, available in either black or green. The material is made of woven HDPE tapes and monofilaments, and is fully UV stable.
How stable is the fence without a top or bottom rail? I had chain link in Canada but it always had a top rail. The area we are moving to currently has people using the current fence as a short cut and I don’t want to install this and find it wrecked because they thought they’d try going over it (though no top or bottom rail should hopefully make them not try).
Many thanks for your e-mail.
Whilst top rails are common in North American, they are rarely used in the UK. As long as the chain link is correctly installed (and tensioned correctly) then the fence should be sufficiently rigid and sturdy without a top rail. Our standard chain link fencing has a core wire which is 1.7mm thick (overall wire thickness with the PVC coating is 2.5mm), and this is commonly used by our customers as a domestic boundary fence. If you require a heavier fencing, then we have some heavy duty rolls of chain link (with a 2.24mm thick core wire, 3.15mm overall wire thickness). Please note, however, that any fencing could be damaged if people attempt to climb on it.
Please let us know if you have any further questions, or require any further assistance.
Do you have the 900mm chain link fencing available in 12.5 metres (heavy duty grade)?
Thank you for your enquiry.
Unfortunately, the heavy duty 900mm high chain link is only available in 25 metre rolls.
