Our stainless steel insect mesh is perfect for keeping out flies and other insects. The mesh is woven to achieve a small hole size of 1.36mm x 1.36mm. The 7.5cm to 15cm wide rolls are ideal for use on soffits, or behind cladding.
Stainless steel is highly resistant to rust, and is the best option for a long lasting insect mesh. Stainless steel is also the preferred option for food preparation areas, as it is a hygienic material and can be cleaned easily. We offer the insect mesh in either standard grade 304 stainless steel, or the higher quality grade 316 stainless steel (sometimes called Marine Grade). Grade 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, which is added to boost its resistance to corrosion and should be selected if the material is to be used in a salt water or coastal environment.
All measurements +/- 5%. If you require a micrometer reading of the wire thickness then please call us on 01782 820 970.
Is this a woven mesh or is it an expanded metal mesh? If woven what holds the edge wires in place?
Thank you for the e-mail.
The soffit mesh is woven. The material is finely knitted together, which holds the strands of wire in place. However, if you pull the outer strand of wire then you can pull it out.
If you would like to see the material then we would be happy to send a small sample in the post.
Can you please advise which soffit insect mesh would be best for an exposed seaside location on the West of Scotland? Thank you.
Thank you for your enquiry.
The product that would last the longest would be stainless steel woven fly screen Grade 316 (Marine grade).
Perfect. Many thanks.
Thank you. Very good service and timely delivery.John K
